The Diary of Anne Frank
In addition to traditional post-performance discussions and artist interviews, for People’s Light’s multi-ethnic production of The Diary of Anne Frank, it was important to crack open the work in a multitude of ways.
Marcie coordinated lobby chats facilitated by faith-leaders and social activists; and a series of robust panel discussions including:
"Adolescence, Trauma, & Resilience"
with Allie Dolan of Support Center for Child Advocates; Terrell Green of PHMC’s Philadelphia Area Sexual Health Initiative and HEART Study; Nina Guzman, Founder & Executive Director of Alianzas de Phoenixville; Karen Moon, Clinical Social Work/Therapist, MSW, LCSW; Rebecca A. Tavangar, Psychotherapist, Trauma Counselor with the Chester County ACEs Coalition.
"Identity & Tradition" with Rabbi Tiferet Berenbaum of Temple Har Zion; Randi Boyette of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) in Philadelphia; and two high school students who had recently immigrated to the US.
"The Freedom Seder at 49: Origins and Future" featuring faith leaders Reverend Greg Holston, Ph.D. of POWER; Reverend Mark Tyler of Mother Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church; and Rabbi Arthur Waskow, Founder and Director of The Shalom Center.
"Anne Frank: Why Now?" pursuing questions of the diary’s resonance today as well as experiences and expressions of Jewishness today with Lisa Hoffstein, Executive Director, Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect; Jared Jackson, Founder & Executive Director, Jews in ALL Hues; Cathryn Miller-Wilson, Esquire, Executive Director of Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society Pennsylvania (HIAS); and Robert Nosanchuk, Senior Rabbi, Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple, Cleveland, OH
