Relaxed Performances provide a welcoming environment inviting and encouraging individuals with autism, ADD, ADHD, dementia and sensory sensitivities to enjoy the performance in our “shush-free” zone.
Marcie led People’s Light to produce the first Relaxed Performance (RP) in the Philadelphia region, and have since led a cohort of six theatres toward increased capacity and the ability to produce RPs with a cross-learning model. Within 2 years, this cohort increased RPs in the region by 500%, and COVID-19 impacts not-with-standing, its work continues to grow. Read more in this article from American Theatre.
Marcie has also consulted with many individual theatres to increase their capacity for relaxed performances, including: the Abbey Theatre (Dublin), FringeArts, Candlelight Dinner Theatre (Wilmington), Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, Round House Theatre Company and more.
